Just going to get this out of the way quickly - The featured imagine this week is young Ollie playing his 2nd shot from the back of the 13th Green, after his partner (whoever he was) had shanked his Drive off 12 - and became the only pairing to play the 13th on the day, albeit the wrong way!! Thanks to 'Coco The Photo' for the picture!!!
So it was the first outing of the Foursomes format yesterday, which is always a tough one and I am sure the word 'Sorry' was used more than once yesterday - I know I used it especially after my Tee shot on 12 (See Picture). The scoring yesterday was surprisingly high with Nett 4 Under being the winning score and After a CPO on the Back 9 - Bomber and Guy 'Fawkes' Hamer came out on top of Ed Jones and The President - Both Had back 9'S of 31 (Gross), however Bomber and Guy had half of their Combined 17 Handicap to come off (8.5) that giving them a Nett of 22.5, opposed to Ed and Dave's Nett 24 (Half of their 14 - 7 from 31 giving Nett 24), Well done to Bomber and Guy - 3.8 and 3.2 Shots gone - Ed and Dave lose 2.2 Each. Special Mention for their Gross 59 (Level Par) to Craig Wood and Sub Gareth 'Sid the Sexist' Arnison for a Nett 56 - 👏👏👏👏
Nearest the Pin was won by Steve 'Justin Moorhouse' Tranter finishing 6ft 9" - Our First Sub to take the Prize, and puts himself in the Shoot Out Final (Sunday 9th March) - £13.60 has gone in your Pro shop account Pal. Justin can be seen pictured on the Left.
I did ask that you send me pictures of your pairing, which a few of you have not done, so I reserve the right the use any library pictures I may have of you, or find images that will allow the rest of the members to recognise you - or ask a family Member for any they may have. Unfortunately Bomber and Guy did not furnish me with pictures, so I have gone for any I find that can best show you in a way that you will be recognised - so Bomber is the Top left, and many thanks to Steve Hamer for sending me one of Guy when he was auditioning for a part in Glee - false tanned legs included !!!!!!!
Thanks to those who played their KO's this weekend and to those who are playing this coming Sunday - No excuses for not arranging your games as the contact details have been passed on.
Great to have a game with Young Ollie again yesterday as its been a while, and you can see his development is well on track and it wont be long before his handicap starts to tumble as he grows and gets older - Thanks to Les and Coco for their company Yesterday it was good to listen to Les for 15 Holes!!!
I am away from Sunday as spending time down in Tavistock (Plymouth) for Xmas / New Year - So if anybody needs to ask anything, do not ring me or Text me as reception in the area we are is none existent - You can call or message on WhatsApp however.
This coming Sunday the format will be 4BBB Medal - Good luck to you all and have a good week.
