Good evening everybody - Apologies for the late report, Work got in the way this morning and most of the day, so having to write this in my own time - Hope thats appreciated 👍😂.
Well another Different format, and for some I would imagine it was your first time of playing it - so I hope you enjoyed it. I know it can get confusing - but I think its a great format, especially when your partner hits the Fairway a lot and your drive goes in the SH(1)T and he has to find it and play from the rough or trees - be honest now, did you get Frustrated? I know John may have done with me - thats another who wont ask me to Sub again, the list is growing!! There is another one of these planned, but its American Greensomes, where you both Drive again, but play your own 2nd shot and then pick the best - watch out for it.
Well there where some good scores in yesterday, but 3 Great Ones, as 3 pairs scored 61 - Adamski Taylor, James Shanky Cordwell, Dave and Ollie Richardson and Gaz and Andy Hall. This had too be decided by way of a CPO, which is done differently to a S/Ford CPO. As it was a Medal comp then it is decided by your Gross back 9 with 1/2 your handicap knocked off, unfortunately for Adamski and Shanky their 7 off 38 gave them 31, whereas Gaz and Andy had 35 less 6 giving them 29 - Richie and Ollie had 34 Less 5 also giving them 29 - this then goes into Fractions over the back 6 - Gaz and Andy had 23 less 4 (as the handicap is 2/3 of 6 = 4) giving them 19 - richie and ollie had 24 less 2/3 of 5 = 3.33333 - giving them a net of 20.66666 - so Congratulations to Andy and Gaz (handicaps smashed) and commiserations to Richie and Ollie. Andy is pictured on the Left with Gaz pictured on the right.
Well Nutty did it again and thinned his 3 wood on the First to take the NP with 15ft 1 " - and book himself another shot in the Final Shoot out in march 2025 - Well done Nutty - Nice little Pot building up in the Pro shop 👍
There was only 1 x 2 on the day and that was acheived by Les and Charlie (Battersby and Winstanley) 0n the very tough 14th, with a wind in your face and the flag back left - it was hard enough to hit the green, never mind get near the Flag so well done boys - nice little £35 each of the old 'Rowlands Rupee's' 👏👏👏👏👏
Some best card Knockouts where played yesterday, so thank you for arranging to play these early, especially those that played their first round games - If anybody wants to arrange their best card knockout for next Sunday, can you please do so - I have contact numbers for all players if you need it.
Next Sunday sees a normal format, as in 4BBB S/Ford - if anybody wants a sub let me know, if you have sorted your own out then Thankyou - please ensure that their name is on BRS alongside you, this makes it easier for Craig when doing the Cards, and for me to pre-prepare the pairs on the Sheet.
Finally you may have noticed that we are using up all the old scorecards in the WL - and we will do for the Duration of the WL or as long as these last.
Have A Great Week ahead
Kex
