Good Morning All
Well the penultimate week of the WL went by without incident this week, with no 2's Gate and no controversy - that I am aware of anyway!
After a very quiet WL, our Reigning WL champions Wilcock and Jolley finally made an appearance, mind you good job it wasn't spitting as they may have decided not to bother playing. Their 61 on the day was good enough to take the 15 Points (Which now gives them a position of respectability in the league in the top 10) and of course the Money. Our Runners up on the Day where Maddocks and Flynn with their 62 - which should have been better by all accounts, but as I said to Laaaaaaaaa yesterday, it wasn't and consider yourself lucky you ain't a United Fan!!
Our winner yesterday was Macca (£12.80 will be credited to your Pro Shop account) with his Driver to 4ft - or 48"s, and he now books himself a spot in the shoot out Final next Sunday - and also becoming the 6th Different Dave in the Final - 1 More Dave and it will be known as the 'Rodney Pin-seeker Challenge'. Macca is pictured Left
Plenty of 2's recorded yesterday - 8 in total (And there where a couple at the First and 17 which unfortunately did not count) and each player will get £4 credited
Only the top 3 pairs can now win the Winter League - Toole / Waddup Have to win or come 2nd and Bullard Daniels have to win - as long as Holt and Morris (Todays Featured Pair) do not improve. Holt / Morris are massive favourite's to be crowned champions, but do not write the others off. In the event of a tie, it will be decided on count back, and the winner will take the Crown, and the prize money. For all the others on 86 points and above, your target is to get in that top 10 and get a Minimum of £10 Back. Any other Ties in the Top 10, then the prize money will be split between them.
The format will be Fruity Foursomes - another notch up on foursomes itself by way of this is full alternate shots. On your first hole (Remember this is a shotgun start) you will nominate who will drive. Player A drives, then Player B plays the Next Shot, then Player A the next until you hole out. If Player B holes out then Player A drives again on the next hole, and so on all the way through your round. I can clarify anything you are unsure of on Sunday morning.
The 2's Holes will be all of them in play on the day. In respect of the Nearest the Pin on the 1st Hole, when you arrive here you can both drive off so you get a shot at trying to get into the Shoot out Final, but you must take the Player who's drive is to count for the purpose of the Comp (So if Player A hits the green and is 2 Foot from the Pin, but Player B 'Knobs it off the Tee, and its Player B's drive, you must take that one)
If Player A tees off and puts it out of bounds, then Player B must take the Provisional 3 off the Tee - If in doubt after finding the Rough of the Tee, then please take a Provisional (That should be common sense anyway)
The Shot Gun Start is at 9.30 - I would ask all players, (or at least 1 of each pair) to come to the clubhouse, see Cosmo from 8.30 to draw your own Tee. Payment and cards can be picked up as normal from craig in the Pro shop.
Shoot out Final will take place approx 30 - 45 mins after we finish the Golf - once that is complete I shall do the Presentation about 1.30 - 2ish - Your support for all the winners will be more than welcome.
Have a great week, and good luck in the Final week
