Good Day to you all
Well Sunday turned out to be a very Cold day, but fortunately without any wind or rain thrown in - Personally I am not one to feel the cold, but even I had to wear another glove on my right hand between shots.
The Honours this week went to Caldon and Woody (Pictured above with Woody on the Left and Caldon on the Right) with their fine 69 points - I think it was the fact that the group behind lost 4 holes, and it just made them so relaxed with no pressure to rush!! Runners up on the day after pipping Raffa / Armo (who I thought had joined another club, as not seen them on any leaderboards yet in the WL) by a better back 9, were Ian Toole and Steve Waddup, who ironically where in the Group behind Caldon, and responsible for even Holding Nashy up!! Me and Cosmo played with Nashy and Kenny, and how they never won on Sunday I don't know as they cruised to 45 points on the front 9, which would have been better if Nashy putted with a bit more aggression, and then they capitulated on the back 9 and only scored 13. Me and cosmo only matched that 45 after 16 holes - but it felt like a moral victory (even though it cost £5) only losing by 7 points in the end.
League Table
We have new Leaders in the league with approx 7 weeks left to play, Mr Holt and our Vice Captain elect, Mr Morris, who sit 3 points in front of the WL bandits Bullard / Daniels who sit a further 2 points in front of the Richardsons and now Caldon and Woody have joined the race. 9 points separates the top 7 pairs - which makes for a very interesting Run in, especially with the planned last 3 weeks formats of 'Damian 6,6,6" - American Greensomes and final week will be Fruity Foursomes - Which will all be weather dependant.
Nearest the Pin
Winner this week and booking his spot in the WL Shoot out after the final week is Dave Gamble, with 18ft 4" - quite a long way away for a change. For those who don't know, The WL Shoot out takes place 30-40 mins after the Last WL game on Sunday 9th March. All players that have qualified will meet on the 1st Tee and hit 1 shot (Unless you have won more than once) in the Order that you qualified, so if you won week 1 you go first, if you won week 6 you go 6th. It would be nice to see again support from all Winter Leaguers for the Finalists, plus it gives me time to sort out the result on the day, and the final league standings ahead of the Presentation. The winner will be the person nearest the Pin on the Day and there will be a prize for the runner up as well - Any questions you have on this, then ask Bomber as he is administering it the the League weeks and on shoot out day. If you cant make this then please let us know.
2's
2's this week paid £10.33 to each player - 3 x 2's recorded.
