Good morning
Well another WL came to a close on Sunday and the Red Ball in the sky made a welcome appearance as you where blessed with great weather on the day, and each and everyone of you deserved it after battling the elements at times during the last 21 weeks - so how did it go on Sunday, who won came second, won the last NP and got into the final - all questions answered below
So the toughest of Formats was chosen for the final week of the WL, and the scores reflected how difficult this is. Foursomes as an event alone is difficult, but when you add the fact that it is alternate all the way through, it is even tougher especially if your partner keeps putting out and you are driving like a crash test dummy! The spoils this week went to Cosmo and Sub for Jay Matt 'Digger' Wrall (Pictured above) with their Gross 75 - nett 70 - which considering the comp itself was a great score. The runners up on the day were Steve Kelsall and the 'Pikey' Trev Wisdom with their 72 Nett, another great score in this format. On another note I know cosmo was watching how pairs scored in this as he makes his choices for the Foursomes KO Match at Macclesfield in the next week or so - Have you had the call yet - have you been selected?
Our winner on the day, and booking another slot for himself in the Final was Tony 'Curtly' (Not Curly, Bomber 🤦♂️) Ambrose - pocketing £19.10 on his Pro shop account - Unfortunately I dont know the distance, but can assume it was not inside Dave Jolleys 10" - Congratulations to Dave on his Weekly NP Win and enjoy the £50 you won for that one. As Bomber has already posted the Shoot out Final was won by Dave, with Dave coming Second and Dave Coming Third (Jolley, Flanagan and McDougall) winning £200, £70 and £30 respectively. Thanks to Bomber for running this, and I am sure he will do this again in October when we go again.
We had 4 2's recorded on Sunday - which paid £8.25 each - with 1 pair getting 2 on the day pocketing £16.50 - The Irony being it was the 2's Brothers - Bullard / Daniels lol.
So thats it, all over and done with Morris / Holt crowned as WL Champions for a 2nd time - and they never finished in the top 2 places in any of the weeks, which is the perfect way to remain below the radar by playing consistently well every week - well done to you both on winning the CHIPPED Dave Boyle Memorial Trophy, and I will get the Base Engraved with your names when a certain Mr Wilcock is back.
There was just short of 6k that went through the 'Books' this year - which has all been paid out weekly and just short of £1300 was given out on Sunday in vouchers to the winners, We also paid out £350 for the NP prizes. We also contributed approx £500 back to the golf club.
My Thanks go to Craig, James Cordwell, Dave Bell, Gaz Hall and Bomber for their assistance during the course of the WL this year - Your help plays its part in the WL being the success that it is. Final thanks go to Dave and his team for making the course playable during some torrid weather.
So all that is left to say is thank you for your participation and if you didnt play, then there would be no WL - So thank you.
See you in October
