NWMGA Team Match - Week 10 Prestwich Home

On to another week and big chance to try and put a couple of points between ourselves and Whitefield who had lost 5-3 at Rochdale the night before. Unfortunately I could not be there so the usual extended report on each game is at a limit, but please read on to find the outcome of the individual matches and the end score..................

Match / Player Report

Colin Stephenson
Colin Stephenson
Cosmo was first out and was trying to keep up his unbeaten record in the League - Unfortunately he tasted defeat for the first time as he lost 2 and 1 in his scratch match
Markham Bullard

Morcambe was 2 down with 3 to play - But dug deep again to grind out a Halve in his game which again was a Scratch Match 👏👏 Great fightback Morecambe
Matt Wrall
Matt Wrall
Matt 'Digger' Wrall was making his Full debut for the NWMGA Team - and despite having to give his opponent 3 shots, Digger however made a glowing debut as he Won 3 and 2 👏👏👏👏👏 Well Done Matt
Dave Flanagan
Dave Flanagan
Flanny was back in the team after missing last week due to Gingivitis - that is obviously not what was wrong with him - but he was ILL - Anyway Flanny was another protecting a perfect start to the season winning 5 out of 5. He proved far to much for his opponent, in Their Scratch Match, as he coasted to a brilliant 7 and 6 Victory to make it 6 out of 6. Welcome back Flanny, Fantastic win 👏👏👏👏👏
Kev Simmons

The Machine who was fresh back from Holiday - went straight back into the team this week, Unfortunately it seems he left some of his form back in Spain, as he lost 1 down, in yet another Scratch Match 🪓🪓🪓
Si Daniels
Si Daniels
Si was another defending an unbeaten start to the season, and receiving 3 shots on his home track, would make you think he was a guaranteed banker for a point - However he got his hat nailed on as he lost 3 and 2 🪓🪓🪓
Josh Carr
Josh Carr
Josh was another that had just returned from Holiday, and fortunately he had brought his game back with him, and even though getting 3 shots as well, made no mistake as he won 17 to close the game out 3 and 1 - Well done Josh and I hope you are enjoying you first season with the Team - Well done 👏👏👏👏
Gaz Hall
Gaz Hall
Gaz was our leader in the OOM (attached in this report below) with 21 points having won 6 out of 6 games - and it was looking like 7 out of 7 as he walked off the 14th, 2 up in his game (receiving 1 shot) only to lose the next 4 holes and lose 2 down - and taste defeat for the first time in the league - a proper snatch defeat from the jaws of victory!!

So a bit of a disappointing result at the end of the day, losing 4.5 to 3.5 at home, especially as Stand had won the same night 5.5 to 2.5 away at Ellesmere, To take them on to 45.5 - with ourselves on 45 - Whitefield on 44.5 and Rochdale on 41.5 - with our next game away at Whitefield, and our last away game in a couple of weeks at Rochdale - with Pike and Worsley at home. No good reflecting on a bad day at the office, but more be positive we are in the position we are in, which in my opinion is fantastic - so onwards and upwards lads starting with Whitefield next week 👍👍👍👍👍
