Good day to you all
Thanks to the Dave and the Greens lads for giving you every chance to play, and you did - I set off for Plymouth at 8.45 and the weather was not the best then, and I thought that we may be facing it being called off, but I can only assume that the rain / sleet stopped and thankfully allowed the round to be completed.
Coming out on top of the Pile this week were Spike and Chaz with a well played round of Golf in the conditions, and becoming the first pair this Year to win Twice. Their Nett 43 (8 Under) was unrivalled as they won by 2 clear shots over the President and Ed, who for the second week on the trot where the Bridesmaids with their 45 (6 under) - Well played Gents, great to see those handicaps tumbling down.
Our winner this week was Dave 'Gandhi' Parkinson (Pictured Left) who smashed his 8 iron to 14ft 4" - which goes to show how difficult the conditions where to even hit the Green. Parky becomes the 8th person to book himself into the Shoot out on the Final Day. Well done Parky £12.60 will be credited to your Pro Shop account. As bomber has already posted, the Monies taken next Sunday for the NP will all be paid out to the winner, whom will have their Pro shop account credited - Good luck to you all.
There are 3 or 4 games yet to be arranged in the Jones Jug, and looking at this weeks BRS, some are leaving until the last week - Hopefully those that progress will be ready for a quick turnaround for the remainder of the games to be played within. The Best card KO will be a week ahead of the last date, thanks to all for getting those games in. I guess the unluckiest Losers in the Best Card yesterday where Steve Hamer and Mark Seymour v Dave Slingsby and Karl Hayden - as they lost on a CPO on the back 9 by 1 shot................................after recording a 9 on the 18th - I hope this was nothing to do with the 'Greenkeepers Revenge' position of the Flag on the last - which I understand was just on top of the Slope back Right - Love it. I have posted the cards in the WhatsApp group
Thanks again to all the Subs for turning out again yesterday and for all those that have turned out over the first 9 weeks of the WL. This coming Sunday is week 10 and opens up the second batch of using 3 subs, this means if you have not used any subs, then you can use all 6 in the last few weeks of the WL - Some have used 1 and 2, if so then you can use 5 or 4 respectively - in this next period the same rule applies to any single Sub, in that they can not be used more than 3 times in total - If you do then you can not get any points in the WL, but you can win the comp and take the dosh.
We have now filled 7 Football cards, which has swelled the End of season Prize fund by some £280, with that in mind I thought that the next card (already started) when it is won, the winner can take the full £80 as a End of year Bonus, so good luck to you all (Unlucky Adam, you won a week early)
Thanks to you all for braving the elements these first few weeks and for turning out, because if you don't we won't have a WL.
Just leaves me to say May I wish each and everyone of you a Very Merry Christmas and may Santa bring you what you want - not sure how he will bring you a new swing, if not then our Trusty Pro James will more than happy to help 😂😂.
